Hamels Gets Years, Not Money

By / January 17, 2009 / Offseason

The Philadelphia Phillies just slapped Cole Hamels in the face with a three year, $20 million deal just to avoid arbitration.

That is disgusting. The Phillies owe Hamels more than that with all that he has done for them.

He is the ace of their staff. During the 2008 postseason he went 4-0 with an ERA under 2. In the regular season he went 14-10 with a 3.09 ERA.

If I had my way, he would be on the Mets staff.

The Phillies should’ve given him more money. He has done better than Derek Lowe, yet Lowe got $60 million from the Atlanta Braves.

Hamels, you got robbed. If ever you want to leave, come to New York. We’ll take you.
