Glaus Is Out

By / January 22, 2009 / Uncategorized

FoxSports.com reports St. Louis Cardinals third baseman, Troy Glaus, will be out for three months after undergoing shoulder surgery.

He started feeling uncomfortable during the holidays when he began his workouts to prepare for the new season. He was given an injection, but to no avail.

He felt the same pain and undergone an MRI in September during the 2008 season. Cortisone shots seemed to have done the trick.

Opening day may go by without him.

I’ve been reading that the Philthies have been showing some interest in Ty Wigginton to back up Pete Happy at third in the event of an injury. Let’s hope that the Cardinals make a push for Wigginton first now that Glaus will be missing time. A person with Wigginton’s “bowl over first, ask questions later” attitude would scare me on the Philthies. On the Cardinals, not so much.
