Mets Sign Maine

By / February 1, 2009 / Hot Stove

The New York Mets have avoided arbitration with pitcher John Maine.

They settled in between what both wanted. The Mets initial offer was for $2.2 million. Maine wanted $3 million. The settlement was for $2.6 million.

Great job getting this done.

Maine was definitely relieved as well. He was quoted from Mets.com as saying, “Now I just get ready for Spring Training.”

Pedro Feliciano remains the lone member of Mets arbitration-eligible players.

Looks like Omar did it again! Locked up Oliver Perez for 3 years at the $$ he Omr wanted to spend!! 3 Years $36 million!! Nicely done Omar!! I have a feeling Omar is hiding in the bushes on the whole Manny thing!! Don’t be surprised if the Mets land Manny for something like 2 years at $45 million!!
