It did not even take a week since I said “trust management” before management did something that I deem stupid.
Ken Rosenthal on FoxSports.com reports the Mets have signed Livan Hernandez. The deal is for a minor league deal worth $1 million, but also includes $1 million in incentives.
This was a pointless move. With Tim Redding, Freddy Garcia and Jonathan Niese battling it out for the fifth spot, I have to ask: WHY????
It is no secret that Omar Minaya has had the biggest man crush on Hernandez and Manny Ramirez. Oi vey! Even I would say Ramirez would’ve been a better idea than a man who ended the season 13-11 with a 6.05 ERA.
Want some more proof this was a moronic move?
In 180 innings, he allowed 257 hits, 129 runs, 25 bombs, and 121 earned runs.
Is that enough? I think so. This must have been done on Phony Bernazard’s recommendation.
Just another pointless signing.
