This Is It. New Game At Citi Field

By / February 22, 2009 / Uncategorized

This is ridiculous. This is not how I wanted to wake up on a Sunday morning.

The Mets have announced that the actual first game to ever be played at Citi Field will be Mr. Wilpons’ alma mater, St. John’s University against Georgetown.

So for all of you who thought you were going to be the first ones in Citi Field for the exhibition games, think again. This is so the bugs will be fixed in time for the major league games.

I’m sorry. I thought that’s what the exhibition games were for.

For tickets, Mets.com and Mets Blog are reporting two different things.

I’m going with Mets.com because it was the official press release that stated tickets will be available on March 2 via Mets.com for $5.

I will find out for sure tomorrow morning and let you all know.

Considering I’m a St. John’s graduate and still talk to some of the staff, perhaps I could score some tickets from them, but the question is do I really want to? I want the first game to feature the Mets. It’s just not the same if it features the Red Storm and the Hoyas.
