When Omar Minaya said there would be no more moves for the bullpen, he must have meant it. Otherwise, how do you explain not signing Joe Beimel, a man you know can do wonders for the bullpen.
I do not want to hear money issues either.
After they cut Duaner Sanchez, the Mets saved enough money that they could’ve afforded Beimel. They also cut a guy who could handle righties and lefties.
According to the Washington Post, Beimel signed a one- year deal with the Washington Nationals for only $2 million. That’s a bargain.
If the Mets think Pedro Feliciano is the one they can count it, it’s a grave mistake. A mistake they should have learned already.
