Injury Update

By / April 27, 2009 / Injuries

Luis Castillo is the latest victim of an injury. In tonight’s game Castillo suffered from back spasms as he was running to first plate on a single in the bottom of the fourth.

You have to hope that he is going to be okay. From personal experience, muscle spasms are no fun. It does hurt.

With him batting a robust .370, you do not want him to not be in a game.

Carlos Delgado was not in today’s line-up because he was a bum right hip from yesterday’s triple.

It’s okay. I’ll take a bum hip if it means he’s playing his heart out and didn’t just fall like Carl Pavano and end up with a bruised butt cheek. Classic!

There is one problem. It aggravated a problem that was already there. According to Mets.com, Jerry Manuel was going to give Delgado they day off on Wednesday, which would give him two days of rest.

Delgado probably won’t play tomorrow or Wednesday. Give him a three day rest period.

actually, the off-day on Thursday would give Delgado 4 days if he sits the next too. Funny thing was that Castillo was supposed to get the night off with Tatis playing 2B until Delgado was scratched. They’re left a bit short on the bench for tomorrow now in a game with Livan that you get the feeling they’d need pinch hitters.
