Say Goodbye To Garcia

Apparently the Mets have given up on Freddy Garcia because they released him today, according to Newsday.

With a bloated ERA of 8.18, can you blame them? He has done horrible in all of his outings with the Buffalo Bisons. I never saw why some people were hyped by what the signing in the first place. We got no pitching depth from it.

I hate to say I told you so, but, I TOLD YOU SO!

I knew this was not going to work out. Garcia just is not what the Mets need. They need another ace right now.

I would say this leaves the Mets minor league system depleted, but I would say it was that way from the get go.

This now opens a door for Nelson Figueroa who would definitely be given another opportunity, especially if Oliver Perez bombs on Saturday or if Livan Hernandez falls from grace again.

Hernandez has actually been getting worse as the season progresses. He went from a win to a no decision to a bad loss. It’s only a matter of time before he gets sent down.

I think we’ll see Figueroa in May.
