Well another one falls down. Francisco Rodriguez is the latest Met to be hurt. He was unavailable for tonight’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
Rodriguez is out indefinitely with back spasms.
It happened after batting practice. He had to be helped out of the bullpen because he could not walk and went into the clubhouse for treatments.
The chiropractor could not make any adjustments to his back to make him feel better. He was on the table for an hour.
Bart Hubbuch from the New York Post reported Rodriguez collapsed outside of the clubhouse and was in tears from the pain. EMT’s were called on the scene.
No word if he is going to the disabled list. Initially, it was reported he could be out for only two days. Not so anymore.
Naturally, JJ Putz will be taking over closer duties in the bullpen. The Mets will be without a reliever in the bullpen.
I don’t think that is wise considering the Mets pitchers do not have a great history of going deep into games, unless their name is Johan Santana or Livan Hernandez.
The starters and the offense are going to have to step up.
