Mets Cannot Catch a Break

By / May 24, 2009 / Injuries

One would think at some point this rash of injuries would stop for the New York Mets. I’m getting a little tired of writing about injuries.

If you really think the Mets have that sort of luck, they would have won the World Series in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Ryan Church has fallen victim to the injured. His problem? His hamstring. The Mets are not ruling out the possibility of placing him on the DL.

I have to laugh. Usually the B-teams are slated for Spring Training.

Well, welcome your ST B-team. That is exactly what the Mets have right now.

Angel Pagan is the new right-fielder while Ramon Martinez continues to play shortstop in place of Jose Reyes and Alex Cora.

Daniel Murphy is playing first base for mi viejo Carlos Delgado, who by the way is doing an outstanding job there. Which now leaves Gary Sheffield to man left field.

If Church does land on the DL, the newest ST man to come up will be Fernando Martinez. There were talks he was going to come up in June anyway.

I hope that means Angel Pagan goes back to Triple-A. I am not a fan of his at all. Once the interleague games finish, there will not be a need for so many outfielders.
