“I’m talking about something important, like discipline, and duty and honor and courage. And you ain’t got none of it.” – Jerry Manuel
This defines the Mets in every aspect. If you had to define the word “courage”, how would you do so? You could associate it with bravery, but then you would have to define that to.
The dictionary defines it as:
mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.
This has everything to do with the New York Metropolitans.
It is not secret they are in a bad situation. You can even say it is a dire situation. They have begun to slip into the grave of a dead season, yet are trying with sheer desperation to stay alive. But that is all it is, desperation. There is nothing courageous about how the team is playing.
This team lacks courage. They are losing the will to keep fighting. Games are over before they even begin.
With each man that falls down dead, the team grows weaker than before. Show me a team with courage, and you will see a championship team.
It seems people think championships are won with power bats and big name players. They could not be further from the truth. Do not misunderstand me. Big bats are great and fun to see, but they are not the be all and end all.
It’s about having the courage to get up and fight no matter how low you feel. You keep fighting for pride. This team has lost the mental battle that is required to turn this season around. Where is the pride? Down the toilet!
You heard me right! This team has shot this season straight to hell.
It takes courage to win battles and wars. This team has none. It has no heart. It has no passion. It has nothing that is required to take it all.
So where does that leave the fans? Out in the cold? No! The battles has been passed on to the fans of the New York Mets.
You want this team to win? You go into battle with this team. This team that you bleed orange and blue for needs your courage.
To be fans of the Mets, you have to have courage. We face battles everyday being their fans.We take crap from everybody and their mother. We get grief from every corner. We get no respect in this city…in the baseball world.
Well I’m done. Time to take matters into our own hands. It’s time to fight. Time to bring the fire. Time to kick ass in every way.
The Mets need some courage, strength, swagger, everything. We’re going to give it to them. It is up to the fans to bring to this team what they lack.
Mets fans, you live and die with your team. Through the good and the bad you remain passionate. It is time to show the Mets what passion really looks like. Wake the Mets up. Pull them out of this deep abyss they insist on staying in.
My advice to the Mets:
You want a championship? Fight for it! Take nobody’s crap! If someone hits you, you hit them ten times harder. Stick your middle fingers to the world and tell them to go screw themselves.
It is time to decimate everybody in this division. Injuries are no excuses any longer. There are able bodies on this team. As long as there are players, there is always a chance.
Enough of the “poor us” mentality. If that’s the way you are thinking, pack up your crap and get the hell out of our city. The fans deserve and demand better.
We got your back! For years we have. It is high time for you, the New York Metropolitans, the blue-collar team in this city, to have ours.
For years we have done the fighting. For years we will continue. It is high time you do the same for us.
Either you start kickin’ asses or we will kick yours out. You have a duty to this city and the fans all around the world.
This is not just a bit of advice for you. THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING!
So what’s it going to be, New York Mets? Do or Die? You decide. But decide very carefully and quickly. Time is running out!
