New Rotation

By / August 26, 2009 / Injuries

Did I mention the new starting rotation for the Mets is Mike Pelfrey, Tim Redding, Nelson Figueroa, Bobby Parnell and Pat Misch?

Watch out world! The Mets now have the best rotation in the majors.

Seriously? Seriously! This is absolutely ludicrous.

While I do love Pelfrey, he is hardly an ace. I am not sure he can handle the pressure of being the man everyone else in the rotation follows. Before the season started, some were talking about him possibly being an ace. I do not ever see that happening.

Of course this is all thanks to the season-ending surgeries to Johan Santana and Oliver Perez.

Now this makes you ask the question:

Should the Mets have kept Livan Hernandez?

No way! If the Washington Nationals want to put up with his horrid pitching, go right ahead. They are of no threat. In no way was Hernandez going to be the savior of this team. So it was a no-brainer to get rid of him.

Oh and do not sleep on Misch! He’ll throw the Mets first no-hitter at Citi Field. Hurry to purchase your tickets to witness history in the making.

So the Mets continue to be the joke of the majors and now on my site. How wonderful!

I was thinking earlier about the Mets having let go of Livan. As bad as he was, we REALLY could use his innings in the rotation right now. Letting him go to make room for Wagner, who they must have known would be a short-term player because of his trade situation, was yet another bad roster move by Omar Minaya. Just like when they brought up Figgy in April to make a spot start and almost lost him, in addition to releasing O’Day to make room, Omar shows he really doesn’t know what he’s doing.
