Offseason Plans and Other Changes

By / October 4, 2009 / 2009 Offseason

Prior to today’s game, Jerry Manuel said tomorrow he will be making an announcement regarding the Mets coaching staff and the offseason plans as well.

As you all know, last week there was a meeting with management. What was talked about, nobody really knows, but we all have ideas.

On Facebook I mentioned that it has to be regarding the coaching staff because there is talk some will be receiving their walking papers. This would be the right thing to do. Who will it be? Nobody knows just yet.

The Mets players have had problems with hitting this season. So HoJo could be on the chopping block along with Razor Shines for all of the foolish mistakes he’s made.

I would think Omar Minaya would be making these announcements. He could still be talking to the media as well tomorrow. I’m sure everything is scripted. So there should be no surprises.

I think it is a good idea to just get this out of the way. This way the Mets can just focus on what needs to be done as far as players go.

The Mets have said they are committed to building a championship team and will spend money if need be.

I do not want to hear it. I’m sorry. That has been the goal since 2006 and things have just gotten worse. I say the same thing to the higher ups that I would the players:

Shut up and just get it done! I do not want to hear apologies or anything like that. Bring me a championship! End of story!

This organization loves to talk. Well, talk is cheap. Put your money where your mouth is.

Time will tell if the Mets are all talk or serious in their quest to bring a World Championship to Queens. I have a feeling this off season for better or worse will not be dull.
