Jose Reyes is set to have surgery on his right hamstring tendon. No date has been set. There will not be a surgery for torn muscle. It is to remove “scar tissue around the accessory hamstring tendon”, as mentioned on Mets.com.
This tendon is normally taken out and used to replace a torn ligament in the elbow during Tommy John surgery.
I just do not see why they did not do this right away. The sooner they had done this, the sooner Reyes will be set to come back next year. Whatever! Better late than never, I guess.
