The Philadelphia Phillies just cannot seem to handle the pressure. They’re cracking.
In what should have been a celebratory night, the Phillies are fighting amongst each other. After beating the Yankees 8-6 last night and giving themselves another night to breathe, there was tension in the clubhouse.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Brett Myers went up to the second class citizen to Cliff Lee, Colbert Hamels and said:
What are you doing here? I thought you quit.
Colbert followed with a word I cannot say here. Use your imagination.
Before it could get any worse, a team official had to take Myers away.
If you have not heard, after the Yankees beat him in Game 3, he was quoted as saying he could not wait for the season to be over.
Really? You are in the World Series. Stop your crying. So you got beat. Take your lickin’ and keep it movin’. If you cannot handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Or in this case, the big leagues.
So this makes you think. If there is a Game 7, who pitches? Do you give the ball to Hamels? He cannot wait for the season to be over. Do you put your trust in someone with a defeated attitude?
Well, Colbert said he wants the ball should it go that far. He has not proved he deserves it in my opinion.
