Wagner Being Brave

By / December 2, 2009 / 2009 Offseason, Hot Stove

So the latest Met to sign with a rival is Billy Wagner. He is proving he is a Brave soul.

Despite the rivalry is not what it used to be, the Atlanta Braves have signed Wagner to a one-year deal worth $7 million and an option for a second.

We all knew Wags was talking out of his butt when he said he would retire. This just proves it. You know he wants to pass John Franco with over 400 saves.

This did cost the Braves their first round draft pick and sandwich picks because the Red Sox, Wags’ former team, decided to offer him salary arbitration.

It was a good move for the Braves to make, unfortunately.

So will you boo him when he comes to town?

I won’t boo or cheer. Wags never helped the Mets to a championship. Wags did play a part in 07 free fall. I really could care less about Wags going to Atlanta. He’ll blow saves in september like he always does.
