Halladay Goes To Philly

By / December 14, 2009 / 2009 Offseason, Hot Stove

Can you believe it? Just the Mets dumb luck. Guess they might as well think about 2015. No way the Mets have a chance now with Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay and Cole Hamels, right?

Well Cliff Lee may be a part of this deal to land Halladay.

It was a three team trade that managed to get Halladay out of Toronto that included the Seattle Mariners.

Should the deal happen, Lee goes to Seattle with Halladay going to Philly.

Here is the breakdown that I heard from Jonathan Ragus of MVP Gotham:

The Phillies get three prospects from Seattle, but then the Phils are trading two prospects of those three, J.A. Happ, and either Dominic Taylor or Michael Taylor to the Jays.

Now the Phillies are working out an extension with Halladay which is the only way he will approve the deal.

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports the Phillies are getting Halladay. It is just a question if Lee is definitely going to be sent packing to Seattle. Lee’s agent has not heard anything about a trade involving his client.

So now we sit to see if Lee goes. We pray that Lee goes. Like dealing with a Yankees-Phillies World Series was not torture enough? Seriously! I do not want to deal with that rotation if Lee stays.

I have the proverbial gun to my head when it come to the Mets. Lackey to Boston (which im fine with) and Halladay to Philly (F*CK). If Jason Bay, Matt Holliday, Bengie Molina, Marquis, or Pinero are signed by anybody but the Mets, I pull the trigger on my Mets fan…

I like how these teams that are consistently in the playoffs upgrade their teams, and we haven’t been in the playoffs since ’06 continue to make these minor deals.

This is a great sports blog you have here man. It’s a very good read. I have a sports blog myself but I specifically cover the New York Giants. I’ve been a fan all my life and it’s great writing about them. I would like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around. It can’t hurt us, it’s a win/win on both sides.

Please let me know if this is possible. Take care and keep up the good work.
