So here it is. Less than two weeks away from Opening Day. The Mets are getting amped and so are the fans to get this season started already.
There is good news and bad news. I’ll start with the bad news.
Ike Davis has been sent down. We all knew this would happen. Yet, I expect to see him coming up in September. So I’m not too worried or disappointed.
You want to know about the good news? Brian Costas of the NJ Star Ledger reports Jose Reyes is allowed to resume baseball activities. While everybody was worried about Reyes starting the season on the DL, now it is being reported he might not.
Things are working within the Mets organization despite the recent gaffes and what you want to think.
Players are recovering and returning when they say they will. The Mets are taking every precaution that they can with their players.
There is no rushing minor leaguers up to the majors. They are being developed so when they come up they are successful. This is key to a successful team and thanks to Omar Minaya, it is happening.
So let’s hope this is a sign of good things to come for this organization, this team, and the fans.
