Reyes Comes In Second

By / March 28, 2010 / 2010 Season, Spring Training

According to Sports Nite on SNY, Jose Reyes will not be ready until about the second week of the regular season.

Um okay. So I already hear all of the Mets fans freaking out, whining and complaining about what is going on with Reyes. Listen, you want him ready when HE IS READY. Not when you think he should be ready.

You have to think about the time he missed during Spring Training. He has to make that up. There is a reason why it is called “spring training”…to train. Wow! What a concept! Imagine training during spring training.

So relax. Take a nap. Take a breather. Do whatever it is you do to relax. Just calm the heck down. It is the second week, not the second month. No harm, no foul!

Would it be great to have Reyes now? Of course. There is no disputing that. However, why flip out over what you cannot control? No point in crying over spilled milk. So let it go.

When Reyes comes back, you will not even be talking about the two weeks that he missed. You will just be in the stands, in your homes, at the bars cheering him on as he speeds around the bases. Think about that. Maybe that will cause you to delay your coronaries.

I can wait 2 weeks, but Beltran and Reyes are my favorite players(poor me). Both of them were out most of last season. Beltran won’t be back until May?? Now I’m Jose- Carlos-less for 2 weeks? Give me at least 1 back please !!!
