Jose Reyes is pretty much set to start the 2010 season the same way he ended his 2009 season: on the disabled list. It will be retroactive to last week Friday.
He is set to come back around the April 11th mark.
Reyes is without a doubt frustrated and probably pissed as heck because he feels he is fine. Here’s what he said:
My legs are ready, and I’m not that bad swinging the bat. No doubt, I’m more comfortable.
While he says he is comfortable and is apparently running like he is, Reyes never really is honest about how he is feeling. So I think the Mets are right in keeping him under wraps until his time on the DL is served.
An over eager player is never a good thing.
So that makes three players on the DL before the season has even begun: Murphy, Beltran and Reyes. Better safe than sorry.
Now we wait to see who will take their places.
