No Chance In Hell Thanks To Lee

By / December 14, 2010 / 2010 Offseason

Well Mets fans can officially say we will not have a baseball season next year. We are going for the Wildcard, if we even get that.

It was announced tonight that Cliff Lee has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies according to reports by MLB Trade Rumors. TR Sullivan of MLB Blogs is reporting it as is the Associated Press. I will go on record to say that I am rooting hard for the Boston Red Sox in 2011. No freakin’ way the Mets have a shot in hell to go anywhere. While I was hoping he would not sign with the Yankees and he has spurned them, I would rather him be a Yankee than a Philly.

You can say “We Believe” until you are blue in the face. No shot in hell!

After all the commotion  about getting more years from the Yankees and the Rangers, Lee reportedly signed a five year deal, worth $100 million with the Phillies. I think the new devil in baseball is the team from Philly. This is a preliminary agreement. But who is kidding who? This will be official.

Let’s Go Mets 2013?

I never expected to get Lee. Look at how the Phillies floundered to the Giants. The Giants have a small payroll. After living on the left coast for all these years and watching the giants (and hating them) I have to give them credit for this year. After the Zito catastrophe no more big bux have been spent on players by Brian S. The Wilpons are living on loans and SNY. I gave up essentially when we lost Sanatana.

Nobody can blame you either. The Marlins and the Giants have proven you don’t have to spend big bucks to win championships. I just wish everyone else would understand that.
