Maine Heads To Colorado

Frustrated and Beaten

I should say John Maine is heading to the minors of the Colorado Rockies. It was reported by the Miami Herald that Maine will now be with them rather than the team we heard the most about: the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Phillies were the team who it had seemed showed the most interest in the pitcher. Despite the potential trading of Joe Blanton, even the Phillies decided not to pick up this oft-injured veteran. Since 2008, Maine has not been the same pitcher that he was in 2007 when he had his best year with a record of 15-10 and 180 strikeouts.

There seems to be little ill will between Mets fans and Maine who has been hampered with rotator cuff tendinitis. So we will just leave it as, “Good luck, John Maine”. Personally, I think he should have just called it a career.
