So here is the thing. I do not give a flying you-know-what that Francisco Rodriguez has hired Scott Boras. As far as I am concerned, he did all of us a favor. We all knew it was unlikely he was coming back anyway. This just confirms it. Why would GM Sandy Alderson bring back a guy who said he wouldn’t mind playing set-up man to Mariano Rivera over at Yankee Stadium? We have Bobby Parnell who is just being groomed as a closer.
I have no respect for any player who entertains ideas publicly about playing on another team. If you want out so bad, just say it. I am sure Alderson and company will have no problem sending you packing along with your ridiculous contract containing a $17 million option for 2012 and drama.
Rodriguez may have done decently for this team, but the drama and embarrassment he brought to the organization and it’s fans was appalling. I will be more than happy to see him go. I hope the door smacks him hard on his way out. He is one player, kind of like Armando Benitez, that will most certainly not be missed.
Goodbye and good riddance.
On a side note: I wonder if Bor-ass is nervous now that Alderson is in town. I mean think about it. You know Alderson will not be throwing money around to just anybody.
